Trademarks and service marks. Results of the first half of 2020

In the first half of 2020, 1,741 applications were filed with the National Center of Intellectual Property for trademark registration under the national procedure (14.6% increase compared to the first half of 2019), including 1,088 applications submitted by national applicants (7.1% increase compared to the first half of 2019), and 653 – by foreign applicants (29.8% increase compared to the first half of 2019).

During the period under review, 1,440 trademarks were registered in the State Register of Trademarks and Service Marks, which is 11.6% higher than during the same period in 2019 (1,290 registrations).

2,740 applications were filed from January 1 to June 30 for registration of designations under the international procedure.

In the first half of 2020, 120 applications for international registration were filed by national applicants. That is 50% higher compared to the number of applications filed during the same period last year (80 applications).
