The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will launch the 15th edition of the Global Innovation Index (GII-2022) on September 29, 2022, from 1:30 to 4:15 p.m. Geneva time. The event will be attended by ministers, business representatives and innovation specialists. It will feature the presentation of key findings from GII-2022 and two panel discussions.


On September 9, 1994 the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC) was signed at the session of the Council of Heads of Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States. In fact, this date became the foundation day of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO).

The National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) continues to accept applications for the Youth Intellectual Property (IP) Contest for the academic year 2021-2022.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 206 of June 7, 2021, a public holiday - the Day of National Unity (September 17) - was established in the Republic of Belarus. Aliaksandr Zayats, Deputy Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property, spoke at the international conference organized by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus. One of the sections of the conference was devoted to the topic of parallel imports and possibilities of its application as a tool for restraining prices and fighting market monopolies.


Reception of applications for participation in the Republican contest of innovation projects is completed. Representatives of educational institutions, technoparks, technology transfer centers, scientific and practical centers and organizations submitted their applications for participation in the contest.


Deputy Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property Aliaksandr Zayats, together with the leading specialists of the Industrial Property Law and Treaties Division of the Legal and Human Resources Department, members of the NCIP’s Board of Young Scientists Maryia Shmatava and Volha Nikifarava spoke about significance of educating the younger generation about intellectual property rights and how these rights can be managed.
