The event was organized by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the National Center for Intellectual Property and the World Intellectual Property Organization with the support of the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of Scientific and Technical Sphere in the framework of implementation of Priority Arrangements for 2014-2015 to implement the Strategy of the Republic of Belarus in the Sphere of Intellectual Property for 2012-2020.

The seminar was attended by Belarusian and Eurasian patent attorneys, representatives of higher educational institutions, research institutes and large enterprises of the Republic of Belarus.

The participants of the Seminar were greeted by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus A.Silchenko, the Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property P.Broukin, the Program Officer of the PCT International Cooperation Division of the World Intellectual Property Organization C.Roy and the Deputy Director on Scientific Work of the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of Scientific and Technical Sphere A.Suturin.

During the Seminar reports were made by the representative of the World Intellectual Property Organization, the Eurasian and Belarusian Patent Attorney S.Vinogradov. The experts highlighted aspects of the organization and functioning of the international patent system PCT, as well as current and problematic issues that arise in filing and processing of PCT applications.

On November 18, 2015 Mr. Carlos Roy took part in the roundtable discussion with representatives of the Examination Center of Industrial Property of the National Center of Intellectual Property, during of which experts discussed issues relating to the publication of international applications, and the possibility of amending materials at the stage of the international information retrieval.
