In frames of implementation of the Project "Assisting the Government of the Republic of Belarus in entering the WTO by means of strengthening expert and institutional capacity" (The project is being implemented by the United Nations Development Program in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus), an expert group from the Republic of Belarus took part in the advanced training program “Economy and Law of the World Trade Organization” held on the basis of the Russian Academy for Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

The program included the issues concerning the goals and objectives of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the main WTO agreements (GATT, GATS, TRIPS, etc.), the dispute resolving procedures; goals and objectives related to the WTO entering, pros and cons, segmental analysis of the industry and other sectors of the national economy; obligations and the financial regulator role related to the WTO entering; trade regimes system; exemptions from national regulations; trade policy assessment and electronic commerce: WTO regulation.

The National Center of Intellectual Property was represented by its First Deputy Director General Mr. Aliaksei Kurman.
