The third issue of the journal «Intellectual Property in Belarus’ features the article by Diana Ivanova (PhD in Law, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Scientific, Educational and Publishing Activities at the National Centre of Intellectual Property) «Legal protection of various forms of intellectual property in specific sports (using technical and aesthetic sports as an example)’.
This article analyses the specific features of the creation and use of intellectual property in technical and aesthetic sports, in particular synchronised swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, figure skating, acrobatics and ballroom dancing. Given the specific nature of the last-mentioned disciplines, attention is focused on objects of copyright and related rights that may be eligible for legal protection. The article examines the possibility of protecting costumes, make-up, musical works and other results of intellectual activity as objects of intellectual property.
