In 2022. 43 higher education institutions from member states of the Eurasian Patent Organization applied for Eurasian patents. The leader list contains universities from Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Belarusian State University, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Azerbaijan State University, Medical University of Semey (Kazakhstan) and National Research University ITMO in 2022 filed three applications for the Eurasian patent, sharing the 10th place in the leader list. The remaining places are taken by universities from Russia, which together have filed more than 70% of "university" Eurasian applications.

The leaders ranking also includes St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University and Innopolis University, each having filed more than 10 applications. 25 universities from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia submitted two or more Eurasian applications. The only university from Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, which was included in the ranking for 2022 submitted two applications.

The most frequent applications for inventions are filed by higher educational institutions in the following fields: "Medicine and veterinary medicine" (over 23%), "Measurement and optics" (over 19%), "Transport" (over 8%), "Electrical Engineering" (7%), "Physical and chemical processes" and "Material processing and layered materials" (5% each).
