The third issue of the journal В«Intellectual Property in BelarusВ» published an article В«A website as an object of copyright in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian FederationВ».
The author is Kristina Savitskaya, Master of Law, Senior lecturer at the Department of Civil Law at Polotsk State University.
The article examines the legal nature of an Internet site as an object of copyright through the prism of an analysis of doctrinal sources, legal regulation, judicial and law enforcement practices of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. It has been established that the legal regime of the website is not defined in the Belarusian legislation, which creates legal uncertainty in civil turnover. The author examines the Russian experience of classifying an Internet site as composite works, and identifies its limitations (protecting only the creative selection and layout of content without taking into account design and software components).
