Belarus in person: Alexander Lyschik
Alexander Lyschik was born on August 13, 1951 in Kamenets, Brest region. Since childhood, the guy was fond of modeling. After studying for a year at the Brest Civil Engineering Institute, he decided that architecture was not his vocation, and left his studies without hesitation.
Since 1971, he worked as a designer and head of the art workshop at the Kamenetsky Department of Culture. He was engaged in the manufacture of monuments, inlay, metal stamping, wood carving.
After several attempts, A. Lyschik entered the Belarusian Theater and Art Institute at the sculpture department. He studied with outstanding teachers: Gennady Muromtsev, Anatoly Anikeychik, Mikhail Shkrobat. He graduated from the institution in 1983 with the thesis «Monument to architect Alex the towncutter». It was to Aleksa that Vladimir Vasilkovich, the Prince of Volhynia, entrusted the task of finding a site and founding a fortress—the future city of Kamenets.
From 1985 to 1991, the sculptor was engaged in teaching at the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Belarus. In 1983, he founded his own creative workshop in Minsk. He worked in the field of monumental and easel sculpture. The artist is the author of numerous monuments to soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War on the territory of Belarus.
A. Lyschik chose bronze as his main working material, as it В«fell on his soul.В» Over time, the artist became a great connoisseur of all the subtleties of casting, knew how to make an alloy to make high-quality work, especially sculpture with fine plastics. In search of artistic forms, Alexander Ivanovich turned to historical characters. Before creating a new work, he always read a lot, studied the history of everyday life, costume, worked with archival materials, etc.
Alexander Lyschik is the author of a number of works of small architectural forms that have become iconic: В«The BeaverВ» (Bobruisk, 2006), В«The throne chair and the shoeВ» (Orsha, 2008), В«The founders of the city. Prince Vladimir Vasilkovich and Princess OlgaВ», fountain В«KupalyeВ», В«BosmanВ» (all by Kobrin, 2009).
The artist's creative assets include a wide range of prizes and souvenir compositions created for international events and championships, as well as household works.
The master's works are in private collections in England, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Belgium, the USA, Italy, China, Poland, Russia, and Sweden.
