NCIP’s Director General took part in the final day of the congress “Library as a Cultural Phenomenon”

On October 22, 2021, the 8th International Congress “Library as a Cultural Phenomenon” is held in Minsk. This year's theme is “Libraries in Pandemic Conditions: New Opportunities, New Solutions”. The program of the congress included plenary and breakout sessions, presentations and seminars.

One of the seminars was devoted to “Implementation by the Republic of Belarus of the provisions of the Marrakesh Treaty To Facilitate Access Of Published Works To Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired Or Otherwise Print Disabled”.

Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property Uladzimir Rabavolau said in his speech: “The accession of the Republic of Belarus to the Marrakesh Treaty will contribute to expanding the access for the blind, visually impaired and other persons with disabilities to cultural and other information, literature and educational programs. This will help to develop and implement their intellectual and labor potential, integrate into society and improve their quality of life”.
