According to the statement of Alexey Rusakevich, Director of the Minsk Tourist Information Center made at a recent press conference the capital’s brand should be established by the end of the year. 

– An action plan has been developed to shape a unique image of Minsk. Under this plan, a brand contest “Minsk – your bright associations” was organized. Now we have to consider all the ideas, which will form the basis of the future brand of our capital. It should be created by the end of the year, – noted A. Rusakevich.

– Developing the unique image of Minsk, which will be recognizable by tourists, is a huge job. And the best examples of city brands were not created overnight. The brand and logo are the results of comprehensive preliminary work, – highlighted Ludmila Fokeeva, Associate Professor of the Department of International Tourism of the International Relations Faculty (BSU).

56 participants, including students, schoolchildren, teachers and professional designers competed in this contest. Most often the logo was represented using the images of the “Minsk Gate”, the National Library, Belarusian ornaments and the stylized letter “M”. The jury, which included representatives of the Minsk City Executive Committee, specialists in the fields of Minsk culture and architecture, determined the winners and selected 10 best works.
