The Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus is celebrated annually on March 15. The Constitution is the Basic Law of the state, which underlies the entire legislation system.

The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus was adopted on March 15, 1994 at the 13th session of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Belarus of the 12th convocation and is valid now with amendments and additions adopted at the republican referendums on November 24, 1996 and October 17, 2004.

According to the Article 51 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, intellectual property is protected by law. By the way, each special law of the Republic of Belarus in the intellectual property sphere is checked for compliance with the Constitution by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus.
