It became the 16th TISC in the country and the first one within the Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The document was signed in frames of the Seminar “Organization of functioning of technology and innovation support centers and current issues concerning intellectual property rights protection and management”.

The audience could listen to the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology (SCST) Alexander Shumilin, Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property Uladzimir Rabavolau, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Scientists of Belarus Andrei Ivanets and Director of the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Grusha with their welcome speeches.

In his speech Mr. Shumilin noted that even despite the pandemic situation the world demand for intellectual property rights related services keeps growing. Thus, the overall world number of technology and innovation support centers increased by 27% in 2020 having reached the figure of over 1000 in 80 countries. The Republic of Belarus follows the world trends in this field. In 2021 the TISC number growth doubled in comparison with 2020. However, we are not going to stop and heading for further horizons.

Mr. Rabavolau, in his turn, underlined that just the NCIP TISC provided over 4500 consultations concerning intellectual property rights (filing, protection, transfer etc.) for legal entities and individuals in 2020. This figure speaks for rather high social interest towards the named issues and as well indicates prominent progress in intellectual property acknowledgement promotion.

The event was completed by SCST and NCIP prizes presentation.
