ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CENTER FOR PROMOTION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY COMMERCIALIZATION

The main objective of CPIPC is to implement measures aimed at promoting the use of intellectual property objects, including:

development of proposals for improving mechanisms of introduction of intellectual property objects into the civil turnover;

informing on promising industrial property objects owned by national entities;

informing on commercial proposals for patents for industrial property objects belonging to national entities and acting on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, foreign state(s) or region(s);

organizational and technical support of maintaining the State Register of Rights to the Results of Scientific and Technical Activities created fully or partially at the expense of public funds;

methodological support for intellectual property commercialization.

The issue of effective use of intellectual property objects was raised by the President of the Republic of Belarus in May 2012, when addressing to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and this issue has been developed and implemented in the Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus on February 4, 2013 № 59 “On Commercialization of Results of Scientific and Technical Activities Created at the Expense of Public Funds”, published in order to create favourable conditions for commercialization of results of scientific and technical activities.
