The Eurasian patent protected technology by chemists from the Republic of Azerbaijan makes it possible to obtain components necessary for the production of medicines and biologically active additives (BAA), as well as being suitable for use in the food industry.

We are talking about the use of waste tea production, the so-called tea dust, which contains valuable elements - concentrated theanines and caffeine. They are traditionally used in production of dietary supplements stimulating brain activity and supporting physical shape and tonus. Caffeine and theanines can also be added to soft drinks and food and used in medicines manufacture.

The basis of the method developed and patented by Eldar Garayev, Tohfa Nasibova and Eldar Elnur, based on the stage-by-stage filtration of waste tea production with 95% ethyl alcohol. The two-step purification, the details of which can be studied in the Eurasian patent, results in a dark brown solid powder consisting of valuable L-theanine and caffeine.

The use of waste tea production (tea dust) in the process of obtaining L-theanine and caffeine allows to make their production cheaper, to reduce and simplify the stages of the technological process, including through the use of non-toxic ethyl alcohol. More rational use of tea raw materials using a patented technology makes tea production more environmentally friendly.
