On June 25, 2021, the Consultation on Intellectual Property (IP) Policy for Universities and Research Institutions was held. This event brought together national experts, members of the Coordination Committee of the Working Group on the IP Policy, and representatives of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) was represented by the Deputy Director General Anzhela Plionkina, Head of the Copyright and Related Rights Legislation Division Ekaterina Yantikova and Head of the International Cooperation Division Arthur Akhramenka.
The model IP policy for universities and research institutions of the Republic of Belarus was approved on December 10, 2020. At the moment, the most relevant issue is introducing this project at the organizational level in the field of education and science.
During the online meeting WIPO and NCIP representatives, as well as invited experts discussed the possible mechanisms for advisory support to potential beneficiaries of the project at the national level, the expected results and further stages of cooperation in this area.
