The Issuing Resolution shows that the internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the Agreement were fulfilled by the Republic of Belarus.

The Agreement was signed in Tbilisi on April 23, 2015 with a view to strengthening and developing of mutually beneficial relations between Belarus and Georgia in the sphere of intellectual property protection, taking into account historical friendly relations between countries and the desire to develop trade, economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation.

The cooperation of the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of Georgia (hereinafter - Parties) in the sphere of intellectual property will be directed at resolving the issues related to the protection and use of rights to intellectual property objects; harmonizing national legislations of the Parties to international treaties in the sphere of protection of intellectual property rights to which are Parties or may become Parties; exchanging of information, regulative and nominative documents, as well as experience and experts’ visits in the sphere of intellectual property protection; organizing exhibitions, including topics related to intellectual property, as well as seminars and conferences on intellectual property protection; exchanging information on participation in international treaties in the sphere of intellectual property protection; organizing trainings and professional development programs for personnel in the sphere of intellectual property protection, exchanging experience on fulfilling the described work; promoting the process of signing of agreements between state bodies and organizations of the Parties on cooperation in the sphere of intellectual property protection; other forms of cooperation agreed upon by the Parties (Article 2 of the Agreement).

The implementation of the Agreement will enhance the effectiveness of protection in Georgia of rights to intellectual property objects belonging to citizens and legal entities of the Republic of Belarus and create necessary conditions for mutual trade and economic, industrial, scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.

The Agreement shall enter into force 30 days after the receipt of the last written notification on fulfillment by the Parties of internal procedures necessary for its entry into force (initial part of Article 9 of the Agreement).
