On April 23, 2024, the international seminar «IP and the SDGs: building our common future with innovation and creativity» dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day was held in Minsk.

The seminar was organized by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus (SCST) and the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

At the opening of the seminar, welcoming statements were made by First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Science and Technology Denis Korzhitsky, Director General of WIPO Daren Tang (online), Director General of NCIP Uladzimir Rabavolau, Head of the Main Department of Scientific, Scientific-Technical and Innovative-Production Activities of the Apparatus of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Fyodor Khodorkin, Head of the Department of Science and Innovation Activities of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus Petr Pekutko.

During the event, the representatives of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus, SCST, the Eurasian Patent Organization, the Belarusian Association of Patent Attorneys, as well as leading experts from the NCIP and WIPO spoke about key aspects of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the benefit of society and the state, as well as the role of intellectual property as an effective tool for promoting national interests in the context of the Year of Quality.

Also, as part of the seminar, an agreement on the creation of a third-level technology and innovation support center (TISC) point on the basis of InKata LLC was signed. The corresponding agreement was signed by Director General of NCIP Uladzimir Rabavolau and Director of InKata LLC Evgeny Malchevsky.

The seminar ended with the awarding of certificates confirming participation in training as part of the event program.
